Original article [Mon 12th Sep, 2022 18:05 BST]: It’s happening folks, it’s finally happening! After keeping us in the dark for months (bar some rumors that had us convinced of its truth), Nintendo has announced today that it will organize a complete Direct showcase tomorrow (September 13th) a 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST.

Thanks to giant bomb word Journalist and rumor machine Jeff Grubb has led us to believe that there’s going to be a lot of Zelda content we can get into with this one. It seems likely that we will hear about Switch ports for one or both of The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD Y twilight princessand tomorrow could finally be the day we can hear something more about breath of the wild 2? Just give us a title at least Nintendo please!

It is also said that tomorrow’s Direct could see the reveal that first metroid is coming to the Switch, with rumors that that particular port has apparently been around since the dawn of time.

But what else will we see? Will there be news of Advance Wars 1+2: Reboot Camp? could we hear about xenoblade chronicles 3 downloadable content? Will we know more about an upcoming Mario game? Odyssey 2 or else? Is there even more Zelda news we may have missed?

Some of our wonderful writers here at Nintendo Life have shared their predictions for what could appear in the Direct next. But don’t just take our word for it, we want to hear from you too! Take the survey at the end of this article, and then head to the comments to tell us what excites you!

Let the predictions begin!

Oh how I would love to be contrary to my predictions and say that I honestly believe this Direct will see the Switch launch of something big and unexpected. The fact is, I’d be lying if I said I’m not excited about the most likely scenarios.

Wind Waker Y twilight princess apart from the ports, I am Really Waiting for something breath of the wild 2 news. With Splatoon 3 out of the way and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on the horizon, Nintendo needs to give us more information about its next big title, and why shouldn’t it be the one I’m most excited about? I think a full release date is still unlikely, but there is a new trailer and an official title. have to be in the cards, right?

It is for the same reason that I look forward to some news about the next mario odyssey-esque game. My own personal infatuation with the 3D release aside, Odyssey was a great title for the Switch and with Super Mario 3D All-Stars nowhere near scratching that itch, Big-N would do well to keep our love for the plumber. terms before the dreaded movie comes out…

With the rumor mill bringing up all the usual suspects (which, don’t get me wrong, I’d love to see come to fruition), there are a couple of lower-tier titles that would make my day if they showed up. Grezzo has been awfully quiet for the past two years, and after observing the upcoming 30th anniversary of The frog for whom the bell tolls (the Japan-only Game Boy title, Kaeru no Tame ni Kane wa Naruwhich served as a model for Link’s Awakening), I would like to love to see a new version of that on Switch in the same cute style.

The arrival of Game Boy titles on Nintendo Switch Online has been rumored for some time and could make sense as a way to beef up the core offering. having returned to wave race 64 recently, has ignited my enthusiasm for a new entry in that series, or excite bikeeither 1080or (whisper it) F-zero. EITHER rhythm sky. It’s time for more Rhythm Heaven!

And beyond the first-party, there was that rumor that Rocksteady’s Arkham Collection would be coming to Switch. He could be behind it.

I always like to go to a Nintendo Direct with low expectations for fear of being disappointed, but I confess: my heart needs more. Hollow Knight: Silksong in my life. If we’re feeling more daring, how about a release date? They’re going to disappoint me, right?

Anyway, for some things that seem more realistic: we haven’t heard anything about the Dragon Quest III HD-2D remake. I will keep mentioning him in each of these posts until we have a new trailer or something. And, sticking with RPGs, I think we could take a look at the first Xenoblade Chronicle 3 Season Pass update. It’s due in the winter, after all!

Really though, Directs is where I get most excited about things I would never predict. I love surprises, as much as I’m excited to see the Metroid Prime remake come to fruition (and I’ll spend money on it so fast, I’ve never played it on GameCube or Wii), a new title or port of a hidden gem, hard to find it would be great. Show us what you got, Nintendo.

Ollie Reynolds, staff writer

Like most Nintendo Directs, I feel like I could make a lot of predictions and then none of them turn out to be true. That is not the way? That said, the rumors surrounding potential ports of Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, and Metroid Prime are so widespread right now, I feel like there’s has to be something there, right?

Otherwise I would very much like to see some sort of update on metroid prime 4; Maybe just a little sneak peek? Something to tell me that it is still in process and on the way. I’d also love to see the Switch get some tasty horror games in the next couple of months, because it seems like the other platforms are getting all the good horror games right now (hello, Resident Evil 4 Remake). For a final, rather niche prediction/wish, it would be absolutely awesome if developer ZA/UM came out with some sort of sequel to elysee nightclub… One can only hope.

As for this winter, which is apparently what Direct will be mostly focused on, I’m fine, you know? I don’t want to see much more of games like bayonet 3, Mario + Rabbids Spark of HopeY sonic frontiers. Certainly nothing in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Many thanks. I know at this point if I’m going to get them or not, so another trailer won’t change my mind.

Are you excited for the Direct? Are there any titles that we have missed? Let us know in the comments below!
