New Springfield Clinic buildings will cost nearly $50 million

More efficiency and service consolidation are some of the reasons behind a nearly $50 million construction project undertaken by springfield clinicofficials said recently.

The expansion includes a $20 million pediatric and adolescent center already underway in the 3500 block of Old Jacksonville Road.

Also on the horizon, said Tom Fitch, the clinic’s vice president of facilities, real estate and construction, is a $17 million state-of-the-art medical lab on the site of the former family service center on South Grand Avenue between Seventh and Eighth Streets and an $11 million, four-story expansion of its South Sixth Street Building.

O’Shea Builders he serves as construction manager for all three projects. Farnsworth Groupalso from Springfield, is the architecture studio of the projects, in team with the lorenzo group of St. Louis in the pediatric building.
