Patient satisfaction with GP surgeries has plummeted sharply in Scotland over the past year, results of an official Scottish government health and care survey show.
The latest Health and Care Experience Survey for 2021/22 surveyed people across the country on what they think of their local GP practice. The study reveals the best and worst rated surgeries in Glasgow.
Those who responded to the survey across Scotland responded like this: 67 per cent of respondents said their GP practice gave them an overall positive experience, down 12 per cent from the 2019/20 survey.
Over 130,000 people registered as GP practices in Scotland responded to the 2021/22 survey, giving an overall response rate of 24%. The questionnaires were sent out in November 2021 and asked about people’s experiences over the past year.
After looking at the results for each GP in the Glasgow postcode, here are the lowest rated GPs in Glasgow in 2022.
Practices were ranked based on the percentage of people who rated their overall experience as positive or negative.
10. Eglinton Medical Center
The Eglinton Medical Center on the city’s South Side saw 28 percent of respondents mention their experience as negative, 24 percent were neutral, and 48 percent said they had a positive experience.
9. Ker practice
Ker Practice near King’s Park saw 28 per cent of respondents mention their experience as negative, 26 per cent as neutral and 47 per cent saying they had a positive experience.
8. Oakwood Medical Practice
Oakwood Medical Practice operating out of Easterhouse Medical saw 29 percent of respondents cite their experience as negative, 16 percent as neutral, and 55 percent saying their experience was positive.
7. Drs Quigley, Canning, Wedlock and Rosiou
Drs Quigley, Canning, Wedlock, and Rosiou, who work at Thornliebank Health Center, found that 29% of respondents said their experience was negative, 20% were neutral, and 52% said they had a positive experience.
6. Dr. Dames and Lateef
Dr. Dames and Lateef operate out of Parkhead Health Center and found that 29% of respondents listed their experience as negative, 29% said it was neutral, and 42% said their experience was positive.
5. Dr Meeks, Fox and Jamieson
Dr. Meeks, Fox and Jamieson who operate at Wallacewell Medical Center saw that 30 percent of respondents said their experience was negative, 18 percent said neutral, and 53 percent said their experience was positive.
4. Dr. Gordon Campbell and Dr. Kirsten Halstvedt
Dr. Gordon Campbell and Dr. Kirsten Halstvedt operate at Milton Medical Center and saw that 33% of respondents said their experience was negative, 21% said they were neutral, and 46% rated their experience positive.
3.Dr Ross
Dr. S. Ross operates out of Shettleston Health Center and saw that 33% of respondents listed their experience as negative, 22% neutral, and 46% said their experience was positive.
2. Shield medical practice
Shields Medical Practice in Pollokshields saw 41 per cent of respondents mention their experience as negative, 22 per cent neutral and 38 per cent saying their experience was positive.
1. Castlemilk Group Practice
Castlemilk Group Practice saw 43 per cent of respondents saying their experience was negative, 19 per cent neutral and 38 per cent citing their experience as positive.
