Luke — Mr. Driller DrillLand
I played like crazy Mr. Driller DrillLand on GameCube, and seeing the remaster drop to its lowest price ever at 70% off this week was just the push I needed to pick it up and get lost in block-breaking nonsense again. This great little pack is Mr. Driller with a twist: it’s a bunch of neat variations on the traditional formula, each with its own theme and mechanic. An Indiana Jones-style mode features rolling rocks, spike traps, and treasures to collect; a spooky variant sees you clearing haunted blocks and then destroying them to defeat ghosts; an RPG mode adds all sorts of consumable items, a branching map, and boss fights; The space setting adds cosmic hazards and a variety of crazy power-ups. It’s really cool to see the classic mechanics twisted in these weird but nice new versions and of course there’s also a traditional version of the game on offer.
It’s all laid out like a theme park drill, and there’s plenty of extra stuff in the main modes in terms of collectibles to find, earn, and buy as you progress through the increasingly challenging levels of each attraction. it gets hard Quick too, and the Mr. Driller DrillLand Achievements they are absolutely brutal. There is no Everest for the wicked asks you to dig 8,848 meters in classic mode, in one go, with three lives and no way to get more; for context, ‘hard’ mode is only 1,500 meters and even that is challenging, which would explain why literally no one on Xbox has managed to unlock this yet. Watch out for finishers, then, but DrillLand is a fun time if you don’t mind some nearly impossible achievements… or maybe even if you’re willing to be the first to unlock them!
The popular action puzzle game “Mr. DRILLER DrillLand” makes its Western debut! You are invited to a secret amusement park known as “DrillLand”, 500 meters underground! Explore and conquer all five attractions with simple yet exciting gameplay that visitors of all ages can enjoy!
Sean — Ultimate Control Edition
If you haven’t played Control yet, what are you doing in the first place? Second buy it this second like Control: Definitive Edition of the game, which includes both expansions, is just $15.99/£13.99/€15.99. In Control, you play as Jesse Faden, the new director of a secret agency in New York that has been invaded by a supernatural threat. In search of answers, he will explore the Oldest House to find the source of the threat and discover the building’s secrets. Aside from the exciting combat, what I like most about Control is the general atmosphere that Remedy manages to permeate throughout the game. Brutalist architecture, supernatural elements, and hushed offices create a unique experience. Combine this with a gripping story and powers that allow Jesse to levitate and fling enemies at will, and you have a winner here, my friends. I don’t want to say too much more about Control, as I don’t want to spoil it – it’s one of those games where you should go blind and experiment for yourself. Unfortunately, I can’t talk about the expansions because I’ve yet to play them, but I know on good authority that they’re both pretty good, especially if you’re an Alan Wake fan.
A corrupt presence has invaded the Federal Office of Control…
Only you have the power to stop it. The world is now your weapon
in an epic fight to annihilate a sinister enemy through deep and
unpredictable environments. Containment has failed, humanity is
in Game. Will you regain control?
Tom – Just die already
Generally, I wouldn’t condone the use of violence against OAPs, but in the case of the motley crew you find on just die now, I am happy to make an exception. All you need to know is that it’s a physics-based sandbox game that lets you put old people through hell on earth before they reach the gates of heaven…I mean home of retirement. Whether you want to plant rockets on their feet, make piranhas eat their bottom half, electrocute them, dismember them, or any other imaginative way to torment them, this game gives you the tools to do it. Don’t worry though; unlike us frail beings, the old ones you meet here will respawn as if nothing happened, even if their head separated from their body a few seconds before.
While it probably won’t win any awards for being the most emotionally moving game you play this week, I think the level of chaos you can cause when working on the Just die ya achievements it’s worth the price you’ll pay at the current 55% discount. Take a look at our Just Die Ya Review Let’s see what crazy things you can do!
Just Die is already a sandbox chaos game for the elderly created by the designers of Goat Simulator. You’re old and angry and you just got kicked out of your retirement home. How will you survive in a world that wants you to just die already?
