Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral takes place on Monday, September 19, and is a national holiday. Shops across the UK are closed for the Queen’s funeral, including major supermarkets.
Here are all the retailers that are closed today.
Fashion and Home/DIY
John Lewis: John Lewis stores are closed on Mondays.
Dunelm: Dunelm stores and their Click & Collect and delivery services are closed on Mondays.
Wilko: Wilko stores are closed all day on Mondays.
Homebase: Homebase stores are closed on Mondays.
Argos – Argos stores are closed on Mondays.
Primark: Primark stores across the UK are closed on Monday and will reopen on Tuesday. The retailer tweeted: “Our UK stores will be closed on Monday 19th September to give our colleagues the opportunity to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.”

B&Q – B&Q stores are closed over the bank holiday to allow staff to pay their respects to the Queen.
Wickes – Wickes stores are closed on public holidays and click and collect and home delivery services are suspended.
Ikea – Ikea said in his website: “Out of respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and to enable our colleagues to take part in Her funeral, please note that all Ikea stores and business operations across the UK will be closed on Monday 19th September. Stores will reopen normally on Tuesday, September 20.
Currys: Currys stores are closed on Mondays and Order & Collect services are not available.

Supermarkets and food establishments
Tesco: All large Tesco supermarkets are closed all day today “for colleagues to pay their respects”. Many Tesco Express stores are open from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, while some stores in central London are open all day.
Sainsbury’s – Smaller Sainsbury’s stores and petrol stations are open from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm on Mondays, but all supermarkets are closed on the day of the funeral.
Asda – Asda said: “As a show of respect to Her Majesty The Queen, all Asda stores will be closed on Monday 19th September until 5pm to allow our customers and colleagues to acknowledge the passing of our late monarch and commemorate her steadfast service to our nation. We will not be offering online deliveries on Monday, September 19. All of our stores will close at midnight on Sunday, September 18, and will reopen at 5 p.m. on Monday, September 19.”
Morrisons: Morrisons have closed their stores today, but gas stations will open at 5pm
Waitrose: All Waitrose stores are closed on Monday, but five stores in London are open to serve people lining the funeral procession route. These stores are closed during service.
Lidl: all Lidl stores are closed on public holiday Mondays.
Iceland: Shops in Iceland are closed today, including their online and home delivery services.
Cooperative: a statement about the cooperative website reads: “Out of respect and to give our colleagues, customers and members time to reflect and grieve, our stores will be closed on September 19 until 5pm.”
M&S: M&S stores and customer delivery services are closed all day Monday. M&S CEO Stuart Machin said: “It is right that we make changes to our operating arrangements on the day of the funeral to ensure that our colleagues across our stores and distribution network can participate, while supporting customers as they pay their respects too. There will be limited exceptions to closures in London and Windsor on the day of the funeral, but shops will remain closed during the service.
Aldi: All Aldi stores in the UK are closed today.
