now that King Charles III is the new British monarch, Prince William and Kate Middleton they have more property than they know what to do with. They literally don’t even want the last one. On top of a mansion disguised as an apartment in London, a country house, another country house, and a “cottage” that I suspect looks more like a giant house, the Prince and Princess of Wales now they have a castle themselves. It’s time to meddle and enter!
Kensington Palace: Apartment 1A
This is William and Kate’s”official residencealso known as the place where they conduct all their royal business. And for a while, it’s where they lived full time with their kids! While their home is technically an “apartment” in Kensington Palace, it’s actually more of a mansion.
It apparently has 20 rooms, four floors, a private walled garden, various “reception rooms” and “lounge”, a fleet of staff dormitories, a gym, an elevator, and a walled garden. Here’s a look inside the house when the Obamas visited:
So why don’t William and Kate continue to live in apartment 1A full time? Basically, they wanted their children to have a more normal upbringing. “This is very much a decision that two parents have made to give their children the ‘most normal’ start possible,” a source said. Mirror. “KP can be a bit of a fishbowl. They wanted to be able to give George, Charlotte and Louis a little more freedom than they have living in central London. It’s very much a decision that the kids have made.”
Kate and William’s country house is actually a Living room (also known as a giant mansion) that were gifted by the Queen as a wedding present. Because really, who didn’t get a hall for their wedding? regular gift!
Anmer Hall is actually located on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, where the royals vacation. And it’s huge. The two-storey Georgian house was built in the 18th century and used to be the country home of the Duke and Duchess of Kent before King Charles’ friend Hugh van Cutsem started using it. Before Kate and Will moved in, the Hall received a £1.5 million renovation including a new kitchen. The couple spent the height of the COVID-19 pandemic there, and the front of the building is where this photo was taken:
We have also seen the interior of the house thanks to Will and Kate’s Zooms in the middle of the pandemic. Here is your living room:
Adelaide Cottage it’s Will and Kate’s new house on the Windsor estate (sorry no photos!), which they literally just moved into. The house has a lot of history, I am referring to Princess Margaret’s “lover”, the captain of the group Peter Townsend, who lived in it from 1944 to 1952, when he was a groom to King George VI.
The house is made with furniture from Royal Lodge, another house on the Windsor estate where disgraced royal prince Andrew lives (no thanks!). It also features ornamental golden dolphins from an old yacht.
While Kate and William don’t technically living in Windsor Castle is what’s in the cards. the daily mail reports that now that Charles is king, there is a “radical push to reform the vast royal estate”, including “moving the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to Windsor Castle”. However, according to The TelegraphWill and Kate “have indicated to courtiers that they want to give their children the chance to adjust to school and avoid further disruption for as long as possible.”
A source noted: “They won’t be starting from scratch when it comes to decisions about what happens with all the royal properties because there’s been a lot of talk about that over the years, but things can change when you take family dynamics into account.” . account and they will want as little disruption as possible in their children’s lives at this time. They are very happy right now in Windsor, and for the next decade, everything will more or less be dictated by what is right for children.”
Tam Na Ghar
Tam-Na-Ghar is the home of William and Kate in the Balmoral heirloom (no photos of this one either), which was gifted to William by his great-grandmother, the Queen Mother, in 2002. According to the Express, it is located near King Charles House at Balmoral, Birkhalland has three bedrooms.
So Highgrove is technically King Charles’s country home, but it’s owned by the Duchy of Cornwall and Prince William has officially inherited the title of Duke of Cornwall from his father. Which means Highgrove is technically yours, and Charles has to pay her £700,000 a year rentLOL.
That’s it, but stay tuned for more relatable real estate updates!
