London [UK]September 30 (ANI/NewsVoir): The government of Karnataka state in southern India, home to Bangalore, India’s Silicon Valley, is offering European investors a series of roadshow incentives aimed at attracting big companies to “build in India”.
A delegation led by the Karnataka Minister for Industries will meet with a host of potential investors in the UK, France and Germany to invite them to the Global Investors Meeting (GIM) to be held in Bangalore, home to branches of Fortune 400+. 500 companies – from November 2 to 4.
GIM 2022 is a flagship investor event for the state of Karnataka. The purpose of the event is to showcase Karnataka’s strong industrial ecosystem, attract investment from global players and spread industrialization throughout the state.
Kicking off the Europe roadshows for GIM 2022 in London yesterday, Dr Murugesh R Nirani, Minister for Large and Medium Industries, Government of Karnataka, who is leading the delegation, said: “The state of Karnataka offers a excellent industrial ecosystem, world-class infrastructure and industry-friendly policies. The delegation is here to invite prospective investors to the next global investor meeting scheduled for November 2-4 in Bangalore.”
“Our goal is to showcase Karnataka as the investment destination. With the key themes of resilience, innovation, sustainability and equity, we are committed to setting Karnataka’s development agenda in line with global best practice and showcasing our strong ability to ‘ Build for the world,'” he added.
Dr. EV Ramana Reddy, Karnataka Government Additional Chief Secretary, Commerce and Industries, who is part of the state delegation, said: “Karnataka state is the preferred destination for investments in the manufacturing and sustainability sectors. Through meetings with leading companies in the UK and other European markets, we are looking for opportunities to collaborate and engage with global companies and thought leaders in all sectors.We look forward to investments in aerospace, defence, pharmaceutical, life sciences, automotive, electric vehicles and related sectors”.
Along with Dr. Murugesh R Nirani and Dr. EV Ramana Reddy, the delegation also includes Gunjan Krishna, Commissioner for Industrial Development and Director, Department of Industries and Commerce, Government of Karnataka, as well as other senior government officials from the Karnataka Government. During the week-long roadshow, the delegation will meet representatives from UKIBC, Field International. Rolls Royce, Incora, Eaton, Hinduja, Schneider Electric, Dassault Systems, Saint Gobain, Infra Week India, Thales, Thyssenkrupp, Henkel, Bayer and Mittlestand, where the minister will showcase the industry-friendly policies of the state and current Karnataka. as an ideal investment destination for European companies.
The delegation will also meet with Mona Neubaur, Deputy Prime Minister of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf, Germany.
