Applications are open for the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Healthcare Accelerator 2023. AWS Healthcare Accelerator is a four-week virtual technical, business, and mentoring accelerator that will scale high-potential startups and focus on the urgent challenge of healthcare burnout, workforce training, retention, and deployment of medical care.
The program is unique and allows each participating company to determine its own goals and focus. During the program, companies will benefit from AWS’s business and technical expertise, aligned with their challenges and goals.
Benefits
The accelerator will help start-ups use AWS cloud technologies to address the biggest challenges in healthcare. Selected startups will work with AWS technical experts to build and grow their cloud-based healthcare solutions.
The program provides participants with:
- 50+ hours of personalized content, healthcare, business, and AWS-specific mentoring sessions
- AWS Computing Credits
- Help from healthcare industry leaders for business models, plans for regulatory pathways, product safety and efficacy reviews, integrations with electronic health records and other clinical information systems, and preparations for clinical implementation
- Collaboration opportunities with AWS healthcare customers and AWS Partner Network (APN) members seeking healthcare solutions
- Access to the global networks of AWS, AlchemistX and Plexal to create connections and meet the ultimate goal of obtaining pilots and partnerships
Eligibility
Open to:
- Workforce Training: This includes innovation that makes learning more engaging and personalized in areas including Continuing Professional Development and enables rapid upgrading of digital skills across the workforce.
- Eligible solutions may include leveraging technology such as machine learning for personalized learning and rapid assessment, VR/AR simulation training for healthcare, and enablement training for new ways of working.
- Workforce retention: This includes innovation focused on reducing individual workloads and burnout by removing friction in day-to-day processes and systems, empowering new ways of working, and supporting areas such as wellbeing and flexible working.
- Eligible solutions may include leveraging technology to streamline clinical workflows, automating repetitive or routine tasks, enhancing existing functionality, reducing the documentation burden, and outsourcing core tasks to cloud-enabled solutions. AI.
- Workforce Deployment: This includes technologies that support the move to new ways of working in healthcare within virtual rooms, community settings, and home care settings.
- Eligible solutions may include information sharing, remote solutions and interoperability to securely deploy a mobile workforce at the point of care, as well as patient empowerment collaboration tools that reduce unnecessary and repetitive tasks.
